Airtel - Prepaid to Postpaid migration - 28days and counting

I applied for a prepaid to postpaid conversion in Airtel Customer Service Centre on 08-Aug-13 and paid the security deposit of Rs400/-. Verification of address was done only after 2 weeks. My postpaid was supposed to be activated in a couple of days at max. It has been 28 days, and my SIM has not yet been activated. In addition, Airtel deactivated my prepaid number on 27th. From the past one week I am without a number. I visited the Airtel Customer Service center a number of times, called the Airtel customer service, nodal officer, appellate officer, emailed them. Still nothing. Every time I call, I am asked the same questions again, and promised that it will be resolved in 48hours. Afterwards nothing.

I have lodged two complaints: complaint#52515497 (this was closed without informing me) and complaint #52534022. When I call the nodal office number, the CS rep says that the complaint has been escalated, and it will be resolved very soon.

I now do not have a number from past one week. I have missed out on very important calls and messages. I have spent a lot of time/money/effort in calling/talking/mailing Aritel. I am at the wits end who to contact now.
