I have purchased a new 1 tonn 2 star LG Air conditioner and it is consuming almost 3500 kW/hr. It is promised to be consuming only 1150kW.

When I have raised a complaint, the executive came for an inspection with out even a single measuring tools with him. I have explained the issue to him and he said that it is quite natural for a new A/C to consume this much of power and will be normal after 3-4 days. I have waited for almost 12 days now and it still consumes the same. When I contacted them, they are willing to take the A/C to the service center for inspection. But they are also threatening me that this is common for an A/C to consume 3-4 units for the starting hour and there after, 2 units per hour and there is no issues with it, also, once the inspection is done, I have to pay them the transportation expenses.
They are also telling me that the power consumption of 1150 watts is said by the company only for getting the sales and even the 5 star ones they have recently installed consumes 2.5 unit for the first hour and 1.5 units per hour thereafter.
I have no options but go to consumer court for compensation including my increased power bills.
