I have raised a request case in airtel broadband for a new connection on Friday 26th April 2013 and my reference number given was 172046376 (this I got as SMS).
On Saturday morning one executive named Praveen(Thats what he told when I asked his name) came to my flat and he took my application form ( with photo, and address and id proof).I signed both application form and the tariff application. He handed over the copy of application. His phone number is 9738384982.
He took Rs 4600/- from me telling that airtel is having new plan in which if we pay rental for 4 months then DSL router and phone device is free. I paid him in cash. While paying him a cash I asked for his id card. He showed one faded/old id card which was having Airtel logo on that.So i thought he s a genuine airtel representative. And he told he will come and install the internet connection on Sunday. But he didn't turn up. I tried calling his number but it was switched off. Till today the number is switched off. Then I suspected it may be a fraud case and called your helpline number 18001030121, They told that the system is down and they can't raise a complain as of now and asked me to call after 2 hours. After 2 hours i called the same helpline number again. They took my complain and gave complain number as 32164912. Airtel told that they will solve the case from background team by 4th May. But there is no action taken till now even after 1 week of fraud.
When I called your helpline number. Your executive asked the application number. But the copy of the application I have a number 52276 written on that(Hand written) and the printed application number is cut properly.
My questions to Airtel is. How come a fraud guy knows that I have raised a case for broadband connection. And how can he possess Airtel ID card and airtel enrolment form. And why does you have option of accepting fee by cash and why not only cheques in such cases. This is a clear procedural lack from airtel.
Please fix this complain and solve my issue. This is clear case of fraud by airtel representative. I want my Rs 4600/- back or a airtel connection as guranteed by the airtel executive.
