Irequested Airtel DTH to shift my connection to a new apartment. They informedme that they will charge me Rs 250 and I agreed to pay the same. The serviceengineer called and told me that he will come at 10:00 AM the next day. Iwaited for him till 11:30 am and since he did not turn up, wen to office. Hecame when only my elderly mother and kids were at home. He installed the dishin the middle of the pool facing balcony of my apartment completely ruining theaesthetics of the place. On top of that he charged Rs 375 stating thatadditional Rs 125 is for removing the connection from my previous flat. Mygullible mother paid him the money and he did not provide any receipt.
I havelogged the complaint three times by calling the 12150 call center no and havebeen assured that the issue will be fixed.
Thecomplaint no are:
DT041200015
15-apr:29702150,
17-apr:29812932,
19-apr-29831565
But no onehas turned up to help. I have received calls and false promises that someonewould come and get the issue fixed. But three times the complaint has has beenclosed without my consent. I am extremely disappointed with the serviceprovided by Airtel operations team in Bangalore.
Furtherthe person who had interacted with me on phone was extremely rude to the extentof being threatening. His mobile no is: 9538878332 and his name is Anjinappa. Ialso spoke to his manager Viraj on 4/17/2013 who promised to get the issuerectified but no one turned up to fix the issue.
Finally on22-Apr-13 a service engineer came and removed the dish from the balcony. Healso stated that my apartment has a common dish at the terrace and he canprovide the connection through that. He did all the connections and showed fewchannels to be working. My father paid him another Rs 125 for which again therewas no receipt.
After, heleft we realized that many of the channels are still not coming although I amsubscribed to them in my package. On calling 12150 and lodging the complaint, they sent the service engineer (Anjanappa) again on 5-May-2013. This engineerwithout even checking anything states that the cable wiring in my apartment isnot proper and needs to be replaced. I requested him to atlest check the cableor put the individual dish back in the balcony properly as was originallyrequested. On this he demanded another Rs 250. I was surprised by this demandas my original request itself was not fulfilled (even after having paid Rs 500now) to my satisfaction till now and this person was demanding more money. Irequested him to get me in touch with his superior but he flatly refused (forreason's best known to him) and asked meto call the call center (12150). I am the aggrieved party as I have alreadypaid the money for the installationwhich hasn't been done properly, I have been wasting my precious time followingup with Airtel call center and not able to watch all the channels that I havealready paid for. I feel absolutely cheated and helpless. Airtel has apparentlyoutsourced the installation service contracts to 3rd party vendors who don'tcare for the customer satisfaction at all. But this does not absolve Airtel ofthe service that they are expected to provide (after all I am Sairtel customernot their vendors). Its a pity that one of the best brands of one time isgetting associated with such negative customer experience because of bad vendormanagement. Also, going by the way this service person behaved by beingextremely rude and in courteous, one should be careful of letting such vendorpersonnel visit our homes when only women or children may be at home.
I demandthat my DTH installation is done properly, the extra money that I have paid forthe installation be refunded, and the money for the channels that I am unableto watch (but are part of my package) be credited back in my account.
