In August 2013, the area where I shifted was not that developed and so BSNL or Airtel or any other Broadband was not available in this area. Finally I had to take TIKONA Broadband Services for Internet.
I took the 3 months (90 Days Advance Rental) unlimited broadband plan which started on 16th August 2013 and the billing cycle was 16th to 15th and I had to pay in Advance for the following cycle of 90 days.
The rental was Rs. 2695.46/- for 3 months (Or 90 days) and I paid them the money beforehand for the Connection after which my connection was started.
The connection was having too many issues with connectivity, speed and usages but I had to keep it as there was no other choice available and I have already paid them for 3 months.
Now as per the cycle the money I paid was from 16th August till 15th November 2013. But I started getting the calls from them from 15th October onwards that Please pay the Bill, otherwise your connection will be disconnected.
I asked them what is their concept of Bill as in Prepaid there will be No Bill but only Receipt of the payment will be given the day I pay for how much I want to use.
They said in their services Prepaid Bill gets generated and for my connection it is going to be generated in next 30 days and if I dont pay before that the connection will expire.
Every time I got the call I said I will pay by 15th November and that they dont need to call me again and again for that. But these calls started getting worse.
First they were once a day then 2-3 times a day and then like 5-6 times a day.
So finally I didnt had any choice but to put those numbers on blocking as they were disturbing me in my everyday work and no one was updating in their call history that I will make the payment before the due date.
Now for some reason I was not in town till 22nd November 2013. My Husband was here but as he was all day in office he would not need the Internet at all. So He told me that on 16th somewhere the Internet stopped working as they put this connection on Temporary disconnection state.
I came back and paid the dues on 23rd November 2013. This time, again I made a payment for next 3 months i.e. 90 days and got the validity only till 15th February 2014.
In a Prepaid connection if I am making a payment for 90 days then the starting date should be the date of Recharge/ payment done. As the connection was in disconnected state for 7-8 days either they would have adjusted the dates or waived off the 6-7 days amount from the Bill. But in this case they just didnt considered anything at all and gave me the next due date as the 15th of February 2014 with the amount as full 90 days payment amount of Rs. 2695.46/-.
I thought its fine as 6-7 days will be only around Rs. 200/- and who will again and again mess with these people for Rs. 200/-.
My Connection was started again. But again the connectivity issues were getting worse and sometimes the whole day or sometimes the whole week the connection will not work at all. For this I tried making complaints.
Every time I called, either they would not take a Technical complaint to resolve the issue or Will just tell me that We have registered the complaint But will not respond after that.
Many times while making the complaint when I force them to register the complaint and give me the complaint Number they will just cut down the phone from their side without listening to the full complaint and saying that the issue is temporary and will resolve in next 24 hours and so we cannot register the complaint.
I had it enough and I was getting angry day by day for their negligence. Finally I decided to have this TIKONA Services disconnected and take another Local Internet. But I thought as I have already paid till 15th February 2014 I will take another connection from Feb Month and will disconnect the account by 1st Feb.
I called them on 1st Feb to give the Disconnection Request. The Person who was talking to me said We cannot take the request for disconnection before 15th as you have already paid till that day. Please call after 14th February anytime and the Request will be taken at that time.
I already took a new connection on 1st February 2014 and took out all the modem and everything from my House and kept them aside.
On 15th Feb I tried calling TIKONA Care several times for the Disconnection request but My Request was not taken down by their executives.
The Next day I got the message from TIKONA saying that Your Bill have been generated, Please pay Rs. 2695.46/- to avoid disconnection.
Please NOTE: This Bill Generation was from 16th February 2014 till 15th May 2014 and I was already struggling to get the Disconnection Request from 1st February.
I again called the Customer Care after receiving the message and this time I insisted on giving me a Cancellation Request Number for my Future reference. This time I got the Request Number 1-3025468591.
The next day again I got the call from some executive asking me to pay for next three months otherwise they will do some legal proceedings on me and will send the collection people to retrieve that money from me. I gave them the Cancellation Request Number and asked them to work on that instead as I dont want their services anymore.
These calls again started getting worse and by the end of the February I was getting 5-6 calls from them a day to threaten me to pay the bill till 15th May 2014 otherwise face worst consequences.
I tried calling the customer care again but they were not even responding to the complaint number. Finally I got out of my mind and I shouted at them and then they acknowledged that I have filed a request of cancellation towards this Connection.
From that day onwards I started getting calls 3-4 times a day asking for Why do I want to disconnect the connection and I can take a lower plan which will cost me less money than this one.
I told them that Money is not the issue for me but it is their speed and connectivity which they were not ready to acknowledge and were only consistent in saying that I cant pay that is why I am cancelling the connection.
Now I said whatever you want to think or write in your papers its fine with me but I want this connection to be cancelled and taken out of my house.
Now the issue which they made was My Bill is generated and I have to pay for the Next 3 months whether I use it or not. Also that I had not given a request for cancellation prior to bill generation and I am giving the request now.
In March 2014, they sent one collection department guy to collect money from us to whom we showed our complaint number.
He said He doesnt have any idea about this as the Disconnection Request has not been taken at all till now and he was just sent to collect the money from us.
I told him I gave the request on 1st February and then again on 15th February but it was not registered by your executives and then again the next day on 16th February I gave the request and took the Request Number.
At this point he called the customer care and asked them to check the Request Number I gave.
Customer Care executive said that This Request number is not the Cancellation request but it is a Technical Issue Request number.
Again NOTE: Till then it was already 15-20 days they were responding to that Request Number as the Cancellation Request Number. But suddenly after 15 days now they were saying it was not at all a cancellation request.
So I said again file the complaint and raise a Cancellation Request and give me the Number. This time the Number was 1-3044351165.
I also asked them to enquire and let me know about the First Request as:
1. Why I was given the wrong information?
2. Why nobody responded to it?
3. Why till that day I was told that the request is in process when it was not even registered as the cancellation request?
I suspected that till then whenever I gave that request number they were telling me that it was a disconnection request but after some of my conversations, someone had changed the contents of the Request internally to make it look like a totally different request so as to charge me for full 3 months.
After this they again started calling me 2-3 times a day asking the same question Why do I want to disconnect the connection and I can take a lower plan which will cost me less money than this one.
I gave them My Husbands number as the alternate Number to call and not to disturb me as I just started with a new job and I may be in Meetings or any busy office works.
But they never called my Husband and were giving me 2-3 calls every day with the same question but not ready to take any answer other than their Wish.
Finally I blocked those numbers and told my husband to call from his mobile and talk about this connection to be settled ASAP.
The guy who talked to my Husband said if you are disconnecting then you would have to pay the charges which you used after 15th February and according to their data they said till 21st February the connection was active and that is what will come in the Final Settlement.
On 27th March 2014, Finally I got the Full-&-Final Settlement mail saying now I have to pay Rs.4195.46/- which includes:
Amount Payable : Rs.2695.46/-
CPE Charges : Rs.1500/-
When I called them asking for the clarification, they are saying Your Bill was generated and if you didnt wanted to pay Why did you use our services after 15th.

They are threatening me by collection calls and saying they will recover the money from me by Legal Proceedings or by Collection Department people visiting our house.
I do not understand how this wrong thing can be recovered thru legal proceedings when I didnt even use the connection. Infact they have already agreed that they have disconnected the Connection and they are now asking me money for a period which is going to come in the future. One guy even threatened me by saying If you want any usage chart we can show you for the Next 1 yr. But we are asking only for 3 months. Pay it or we will increase the charge for 1 yr.
How is this possible? Is our Law and Order so much into the hands of these Companies that they can do whatever they want.
