My name is Rahul Tyagi and I have a saving account in ICICI bank (account number is 081601518031) and also have an ICICI debit card.
My issue is I did not get my money (Rs. 10,000) back which was wrongly deducted from my account.
On 20th March 2014 at approx. 8:15 AM I tried to withdraw Rs. 2,500 from Indian Overseas Bank ATM (located near Roadways Bus Stand, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh; ATM ID- 8786) using my ICICI debit card. I tried 4 times (that means 2500*4= 10000) and everytime I got this error-"Unable to dispense cash" and after that transaction got cancelled. However at 8:30 AM I got a SMS saying that "your account is debited with Rs. 10,000..."
I didn't get the amount but still Rs. 10,000 has been deducted from my account. Hence I called ICICI customer care and raised a request SR311152651 on the same day and they asked me to wait for 7 days.
On 27th March 2014 I called again at ICICI customer care and they said that Indian Overseas Bank is saying that transaction was successful so they will not pay the amount. As I didn't get the amount so ICICI raised another Escalation request SR312449730 on 27th March and asked me to check after 17 working days.
I checked again on 18th April 2014 and ICICI customer care agent said that Indian Overseas Bank has not yet replied and they raised 3rd Escalation request SR315913472 and asked me to check on 22nd April 2014.
On 22nd April 2014 I called again and got to know that Indian Overseas Bank rejected the final request saying the same thing that transaction was successful and they will not pay my deducted amount.
I visited my nearest ICICI bank branch and they said that they can't do anything as Indian Overseas Bank already replied with the same statement.
It's really frustrating, Is it really too complicated for a common man to get his/her own money back ?
Please consider it as a high priority Escalation as I am already struggling from last two month without any mistake from my end and still didn't get my amount back.
Hence I am raising this complaint against ICICI bank and Indian Overseas Bank so that you can take necessary actions and I will get my Rs. 10,000 back.
